Now,
there's a fresh idea! Gather your family and go on a mission trip
together. Stand on a spiritual mountaintop together. Imagine the joy
and blessing when all the members of your family are a single unit
praying together as one, sharing your faith as one, loving and caring
for others as one. Make your vacation this year a family mission trip.
Jason and Elizabeth Rogers and their family had such an experience
last summer. They were so blessed and enthusiastic as a result of their
mission trip together that they are gathering a group of families for a
First Baptist Family Mission Trip this summer. Begin talking with your
family now about being part of this exciting new approach to being
involved in missions. The trip is scheduled for July 5 - 8.
Jason and Elizabeth have said, "After our first out-of-town mission
experience as a family last year, we are excited to organize a family
mission trip for other families from First Baptist Nashville to the
mountains of northeast Tennessee this summer. Last year's trip taught
our family that many, many Tennesseans struggle to meet even their most
basic needs and that Christ calls us to serve these neighbors in His
name. This summer, we'll have a chance to organize and create food
baskets at a food pantry, pick up trash along the Appalachian Trail,
and lead family activities at Roan Mountain State Park, along with many
other service opportunities sponsored by Hale Community Ministries and
the Watauga Baptist Association in Elizabethton, Tennessee. Join us!"
