When we arrived at the Habitat site this morning to get our instructions, our students were thrilled to learn that they would be able to do the kind of hands-on work that they love on two homes on Alvar Street. Wielding paint brushes, caulk guns, hammers, and brooms, our older students eagerly took on every assignment directed their way. Our younger students, who are forbidden by Habitat rules from doing these kinds of tasks within the under construction homes, did survey work in the neighborhood and picked up trash. We were very proud of our all of students for their hard work and positive attitudes.

Josh found an alternate location for us to do our sports camp this afternoon, so after eating lunch on the busses, we headed to Celebration Church's main campus to work with their day campers. Our students interacted well with the 100+ children in the day camp, and all the planned activities went smoothly. After completing our sports camp, we headed back to take showers in preparation for dinner at the French Quarter. Continue to pray for us as we prepare for a busy day on Wednesday with Habitat work in the morning and singing at a church in the evening.

We had a fun night on the town in the French Quarter. About half of the group went to Mother's Restaurant to eat Po-Boys, and it was well worth the walk and the wait! Almost everyone ended up at Cafe Du Monde before the evening was over. Our bus ride back to Celebration Church was circuitous, but eventually we made it "home." Our devotional time, led by Garrett and Danika, was excellent. Lights out at 10:00 PM!
