Camp is unlike any other event you will find at church, school or elsewhere. Yes, we sings songs, have Bible studies, and play silly games, but there are no words to describe the incredible experience that happens in those 5 short days. The teaching in relevant, the worship is authentic, and the fun is extreme. The resulting spiritual growth and strong relationships are long-lasting and life-changing.

Deep in the heart of First Baptist Nashville Student Ministry is the desire to share the love of Christ with the world using words and actions. The summer mission trip gives students the opportunity to learn about missions and service through a week of hands on experience. Students have traveled to places such as Detroit, Chicago, Washington D.C., New York City, Philadelphia, Maine and New Orleans to spread the Gospel message. Students gain a broader perspective of how God works in the lives of people across the country, and they develop hearts for service that God will continue to use beyond their time in the Student Ministry

The Senior International Trip is a two-week mission experience to an international city. Student have served in Hungary, Switzerland, Italy, Brazil, Israel, Australia, Russia, Hawaii, India, Botswana, and Costa Rica. This mission trip is "final-exam" of sorts on everything we pray the students will learn throughout their years in the Student Ministry. The entire experience of preparing, serving, and then reporting back to a caring church body makes a life-long impact on the students. The trip has proved to open students’ eyes to see how God works around the globe, showing them new opportunities to serve. The Senior International Mission trip is offered each year for graduating seniors who complete 9 months of training.

DiscipleNow

Disciple Now is an essential time of Bible study and true discipleship lead by a solid speaker, sensitive worship leader and knowledgeable caring adults as small group leaders. The weekend is also chock-full of fun activities that build community among the students. Happening mid-way through the school year, this event not only refreshes and encourages students to continue growing in their faith, but it also sets a tone of purpose and excitement for the Spring semester.

Each fall, the Student Ministry takes a break from city life and spends two days on retreat from normal activities. Labor Day Retreat is the first big event of the new school year, and it is a time when students are placed into family groups that they will keep for the remainder of the school year. Younger students are introduced to the Student Ministry, and older student are given the opportunity to step into leadership roles. Along with great times of worship and teaching, outdoor recreation time and mud fests are always on the schedule of activities.
